Michael Walton, Chief Executive Officer

Mike WaltonMr. Walton has held executive management positions in a variety of managed care organizations including Third Party Administrators (TPA’s), brokerage/consulting firms, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBM’s) and care management.

He served as the Executive Vice President of Operations for Gallagher Benefit Administrators managing over 300 employees and a $20 million budget. At Centra Benefit Services, now a part of UMR, he was Vice President of Systems and Information Services and managed several major projects to completion including implementation of an RBRVS network re-pricing program and integrating EDI applications for receiving medical claims.

Mr. Walton has also held executive level sales positions at Avidyn Health, Procare Rx, Acordia, and Penn General. In addition to his corporate experience, Mr. Walton has participated in two start-up companies, one as a sole proprietor and another as a business partner.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University and has taught senior level undergraduate courses in Production and Operations Management for the University of Texas at Dallas.

 

 

 

Joseph Stroffolino, Chief Operating Officer

Joe StroffolinoMr. Stroffolino has over 15 years of experience raising capital for a variety of business ventures including a significant role in capitalizing Best Practice Disease Management.

He has held a number of positions with increasing responsibility in private venture firms such as Winthrop Financial Associates, Saturn Capital, Inc., and StoneGate Partners, LLC before going out on his own in 2008.

Since going independent, he has contributed heavily to the financial success of several start-up ventures but his passion was building BPDM into major player in the chronic condition management business segment of healthcare.

In 2010, he further showed his commitment to BPDM by giving up his successful venture capital business to join BPDM full time as the Senior Vice President of Operations, Mr. Stroffolino was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in July of 2011.

 

 

 

Dr. Thomas D. Nelson, Vice President, Medical Director

Dr. Thomas D. Nelson, DO is a physician executive with fifteen years of administrative experience in five insurance organizations, and seven years as the Chief Medical Officer of a large regional hospital network. He possesses extensive knowledge of managed care, health plan and hospital administration. He has been a primary care doctor for over twenty years in family and internal medicine.

Dr. Nelson attended the Kansas City University of Medicine, interned in Fort Worth, and did residency in internal medicine in Phoenix, AZ. He is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice, the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, the American Board of Utilization Review, and is a candidate for certification by the American College of Physician Executives.

Wade Sloan, Vice President, Technology and Logistics

Wade SloanMr. Sloan joined BPDM in June of 2010. He is responsible for the efficient routing and scheduling of Nurse Practitioner visits with patients as well as PCP office visits for medical chart reviews. He also manages all client member demographic data, interactions with the EMR, billing software, and our call management database.

Mr. Sloan designs and delivers both internal and external reports on the delivery of our services. He customizes reports for our clients based on the information they want to see.

Before joining BPDM, Mr. Sloan worked for FedEx, Blue Dawn Solutions (a startup consulting company), and Dillard’s Department Stores. His primary experience for each of these employers is in logistics and work measurement.

He holds a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Kansas State University.
